SAAB 9-5 SPORTCOMBI - 2010
As said before, only few cars left the factory in Trollhättan, Sweden, prior to Saab's bankruptcy in December 2011. If you still did not know it the trim levels on the Saab's range starts from the standard Linear version, the medium level Vector and ends with the high spec Aero. Few models came equipped with the Aero trim level and the AWD engine. This is the version DNA Collectibles chose to replicate and we will focus on the details of the scale model now.
First have a look to the brilliant paint job and application of the Glacier Silver color. It enhances the model and shines under natural lighting. One difficult part was to paint the A-Pillars in shiny black color, matching the side mirrors fixation's line accurately. Chrome bits are present on all sides of the car, revealing the high specifications of the 9-5 SportCombi version. You can find them surrounding the front grille, headlights and fog lights, on the trunk handle, as well as on the windows' surrounding, made of thin photo-etched parts, which is very complicated to apply manually. All badges are of metallic labels which you can feel under the skin of your fingers.
If we look inside of the cabin and the massive trunk area, you will see lots of tiny details. Starting with the trunk separation's bars, the door handles, the pedals, the surrounding of the gear lever and the chrome elements on the steering wheel, they are all made of precise and thin photo-etched parts. The bi-color interior trim is made of leather look beige seats and roof ceiling, the black trunk, doors and dashboard. Did you notice that the seat belts are made of fabric, like the original car? Now please take some time to admire the central console and dashboard. If your eyes are sharp enough you can read the indications on the left turn signal switch as well as on the right wipers switch. Only delicate hands can apply those elements correctly and this is the level of detail DNA Collectibles wants to offer to collectors.

The 1:18 scale model of the Saab 9-5 sportcombi is great because its quality is exceptional and it looks identical to the real car. It is definitely worth the money and if you are a crazy Saab fanatic (like me) I would recommend you get it.

Unfortunately I will never own the original one, but this impressively detailed model is more than just a consolation. Really perfect!
