Audi scale model cars: a brand with enduring appeal
Audi cars are known for their luxurious yet conservative style that appeals to personal and business users alike. The brand is associated with many innovative features, such as high-beam laser headlights that vastly improve night vision, offering night-time visibility of up to half a mile.
Powerful engines are also features for which Audi is famous. With a top speed of 199 mph, the R8, for example, is capable of slipping from 0-60 mph in a little over 3 seconds and 0-100 mph in 7.1 seconds. Helping to control that power on the road was a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and high-tech ceramic brakes. Audi AG is a german manufacturer of sportive and luxurious automobiles owned at 99% by Volkswagen group. Today, Audi AG also owns the two prestigious sport car brands Lamborghini and Audi Sport.
Some people would argue about the birth date of Audi... But to be fair, that's a tricky question! Is it in 1899 when August Horch created "A. Horch & Cie. Motorwagen Werke"? Or is it when Mr Horch had the idea of naming his company Audi after hearing his son using the latin expression "audiatur et altera pars"? Or is it in 1932 when "Auto Union" was created by merging Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer?... From our point of view, it is 1909 when August Horch founded August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH, because the spirit of Audi really started here.

We quickly mentioned it previously, but let's dive into this topic deeper. Each ring stands for one of the four automobile car manufacturers who decided to merge in 1932 to become Auto Union AG. By creating this consortium, Auto Union directly became the second largest car group after Daimler-Benz. This was a necessary decision to take for Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer to survive during the great depression period.

The footprint of Audi in the automobile market is so rich and so complex that it would be pretentious to try to summarize everything in an article here. But on the other hand, we can pass by the main milestones of the german company to give a global overview:
- Post-World War II : Auto Union factories were used for military purposes and were as a consequence targeted by allied bombing. After the war, Auto Union had to relocate to West Germany in Ingolstadt where DKW facilities were implemented.
- 1958 : Daimler purchase 88% of the shares of Auto Union
- 1964 : Volkswagen acquired complete control of the Ingolstadt factory and resurrect the name "Audi"
- 1969 : Audi merge with NSU
- 1976 : Audi build its first 5 cylinder engine
- 1979 : Audi developed the turbocompressor
- 1980 : Audi developed the quattro technology
- 1998 : Audi acquired Lamborghini
- 2005 : Audi developed its first SUV, the Q7
- 2006 : Audi developed its first supercar, the R8
- 2014 : Audi Sport Team Joest No. 2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro last victory at Le Mans
- 2018 : Audi produced its first fully-electric SUV, the e-tron
