Volkswagen Amarok Aventura

Volkswagen Amarok Aventura is the german reply to the US and Japanese Pick-Up competition. This amazing utility car was introduced for the first time on the market in 2008 and received multiples changes throughout the years till today. DNA Collectibles chose to replicate in high quality resin at 1/18 scale the Aventura version. But let’s learn a little bit about this amazing car and history.

As you certainly know all cars’ names on the Volkswagen range are mostly wind names such as Golf which refers to the Gulf Stream, Jetta is the German name for “jet stream”, Passat means “trade wind,” the Scirocco is named after Sirocco, a Mediterranean wind, and the Polo references polar winds. A common mistake was to suppose Golf and Polo were named after the sport activities. VW used also some animals names, like Fox or Lupo which is the Italian name for Wolf. Wolf is our interest of today’s subject. In fact, Amarok means “arctic wolf” in Inuit language and considered by the Eskimos of Northern Canada and Greenland to be the king of the wild.

• In option you can order your Aventura with Black Pack, meaning that the rear bumper, exterior mirror housings, fog light surrounds and 20″ ‘Talca’ light alloy rims all in black finishing

After the 2008 economical crisis and in order to avoid increasing costs in the European production plants, Volkswagen decided to produce the Amarok in General Pacheco’s VW Group plant, in Argentina, for all major markets worldwide. Later the management decided to use the Hanover plant to produce few series for small markets.
