Audi R8 LMX DNA Collectibles 1/18

Why did the Audi R8 LMX raise a strong interest for DNA Collectibles?

The car manufacturing industry is a big family… Why? Let me illustrate this statement through the example of the Audi R8.

You might already know that Volkswagen is the parent company of Audi. And you are also maybe aware that Volkswagen have another child called Lamborghini. As a good parent, you teach your kids to share their toys, am I right? That’s basically how the R8 was born… Daddy Volkswagen asked to kiddo Lamborghini Gallardo to share its chassis and engine to his brother Audi R8.

After several evolutions since the 2003 concept car version, the Audi R8 LMX was unveiled to the public in 2014 at the 24 hours of Le Mans. We can consider the Audi R8 LMX as a variant of the R8 V10 5.2 FSI quattro coupĂ© equiped with LED and laser headlights! According to Audi Technology Portal: “The laser spot doubles the range of the high-beam light.”

We can also highlight the fact that the R8 LMX is the fastest production of R8 with a top speed registered at 199 mph (320 km/h), only 99 models of this powerful car were built in its lifetime. Downforce is boosted by a fixed carbon-fibre rear wing and front splitter, while the grip is enforced by quattro all-wheel drive and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Allying power, elegance and high-tech, the Audi R8 LMX was a must to be replicated by DNA Collectibles.
