Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Björn Envall, the SAAB 9000 was launched in 1984. It was built in Trollhättan (Sweden) and Uusikaupunki (Finland) until 1998. Thanks to the success of the Saab 99 Turbo and the Saab 900, the Swedish brand decided to give birth to this beauty which will be one of their best seller. In order to save cost, this car is part of the “Type four platform”, meaning that it shares parts with three other cars. Those were the Fiat Croma, the Lancia Thema, and the Alfa Romeo 164. The Saab 9000 AERO which is our subject here was released in 1993 and lasted until 1997.

This lovely Saab 9000 Aero 1-18 made in resincast will highlight your collection of scale model cars. We hesitated between black and Imola red... So we let our followers choose for us. So Imola red it is!

First, let's talk about the exterior. In addition to the global shape and design of the car which was accurately reproduced, we would like to bring your attention to the front. Look at the precision of the headlights! All the tiny details are there, from the inside bulbs to the small wipers. Regarding the front grille, you can notice that we managed to integrate the "SAAB" on the chromed border and the "Turbo" directly on the grille. If you now focus on the back of the car, you will also enjoy the level of details. This is amazing how the logo, the "9000 Aero", the key lock and the back lights are perfectly incorporated into the overall design.

Then, as a usual, DNA Collectibles brought a lot of attention to the interior as well. As a proof, look at the level of details of the dashboard and central column. We did add several separate parts to raise up the quality of the model such as the steering wheel, the gear lever, the door handles and the seat belts. Please also enjoy the realism of the Recaro seats seams giving a great leather effect.

The pictures don’t do this model justice! The colour and detail are fantastic. BMW also did an Imola Red – I had no idea Saab did until I got this.
